LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Westlake’s PALS (People Affecting Lives through Service) group consists
of community-minded employees who volunteer their time and energy to a
variety of events and nonprofits in the greater Los Angeles area
throughout the year.
Each December, Westlake PALS launches the Adopt-A-Family Program and
pairs employees with local families in need. “For the 2016 holidays,
Westlake PALS proudly supported 31 families through our outreach
program,” stated Ian Anderson, Group President of Westlake Financial.
Meals, gifts, time and monetary donations were provided to the adopted
families to make their holidays brighter.
The Adopt-A-Family Program uses a team concept to accomplish its
mission. Team leads are assigned to families selected for the program
and create a unique experience based on the individual’s creativity and
the needs or limitations of the family. Teams hold company-wide events
to help raise additional funds for the families. In 2016 candy-grams and
ornament-grams were purchased and delivered to employees throughout the
company, and a 50/50 raffle (the winning employee generously donated the
winning amount to the family) were held to increase the contribution.
